What is TPMS?

The Tyre Pressure Monitor System is used to monitor the air pressure and temperature inside tyre(s). If the tyre pressure is too low or too high, or if a tyre develops a leak, or temperature is excessive, the TPMS will give both an audible and visual warning.

Tyre performance is one of the important aspects in motorsport, be it circuit racing, rallying or speedway. If your tyre is not performing correctly it can cost you valuable time on the track. A leaking tyre will more than likely be detroyed before you have time to realise what is happening or worss still see you visting the senery.

Personal experience has seen the TPMS save us from entering a race with a trye that was leaking. While sitting waitng to enter the track, the TPMS unit gave both and audible and visual alert that a tyre was under pressure. A quick visit to the compressor to reinflate the tyre and the race was run with not problems.
